I know what you're thinking. "But Bwana, how can you review a disco album? You know nothing of disco." And you would be right. But I have done a lot of coke in the distant past so that must count for something. For a low budget production, NOCTURNA has a pretty deluxe soundtrack album. A big double album with a sexy cover that seems to suggest blow job, it's a slicker package than the movie. As it is a dance record the songs are all over seven minutes with seven total. The band from the film, Moment of Truth, have the two cuts they did in the movie, while Gloria Gaynor and Vickie Sue Robinson each have a song. The Heaven and Hell Orchestra fill out the album. The Moment of Truth would have been a great prom band in 1980 or so. Actually, I didn't think it was lousy or too annoying but it did make me wanna do coke again. Better than a Madonna record and available on ebay cheap. Excelsior!
